OORT Edge, previously known as OORT Decentralized Edge Network (DEN), is a community-powered network that makes Web3 applications faster, more secure, and easier to scale.
We believe Web3 developers should be able to access optimal dApp performance with internet-level scalability. To that end, OORT Edge aims to offer an array of important functionalities such as dynamic resource allocation for data storage and transfer. We are confident that through utilizing OORT Edge, developers will have an opportunity to not only improve their dApps’ performance but also make them more secure and cost-efficient.
OORT Edge is a network that enables individuals to join the fast-growing world of distributed storage and computing. By connecting your edge node devices to OORT’s network, you can contribute to the network and earn rewards. This groundbreaking technology allows for a highly scalable and decentralized approach to building a data cloud that powers a wide range of applications and services. With OORT Edge, you can be a part of the future of data solutions, and earn rewards for helping to build a more secure and resilient network.
Starting now, everybody with an edge node device can simply connect to their WiFi and start earning by contributing to OORT’s decentralized edge network, OORT Edge.
Step 1: Get an edge node device. OORT Edge currently supports Deimos and Helium hotspots.
Step 2: Connect your edge device to OORT Edge.
Step 3: Start mining and earning!
Step 4: Manage your earnings easily by connecting Deimos with your Ale Wallet app.
Ascraeus is dedicated to evaluating the OORT Edge tokenomics and network performance.
Departing from Mons Huygens, the moon’s highest mountain, OORT’s third testnet lands on the northernmost and tallest of the three large aligned Tharsis volcanoes on Mars, Ascraeus Mons.
In this new testnet, the OORT Edge Mining model is introduced with OORT Edge. By running OORT’s edge node and providing storage, compute capacity, or bandwidth, one can help these applications to scale easily while earning mining rewards.
$CCNA is the utility token in OORT’s latest testnet, Ascraeus. Miners will be rewarded in $CCNA and have the option to deposit collateral in both $CCN and $CCNA.
Learn more about how to get $CCNA here.
Edge devices will receive two types of rewards in OORT Edge: mining rewards and utility rewards. Additional and more substantial rewards will be sent to edge devices providing utilities (storage, compute, and data transfer) for OORT’s business clients.
The collateral you put down, the stability of your edge node, and the total network growth will all affect your mining reward.
Learn more about how your mining reward is calculated here.
Collateral is not required for Deimos mining; however, if you opt to deposit collateral, you will receive 100% of the mining reward, 85% more than when you don’t deposit anything.
