We’re thrilled to announce that OORT on-chain governance is now live, empowering our community to help shape the future of decentralized AI. Through this new governance model, $OORT token holders can directly participate in decision-making with transparent, on-chain voting.
OORT token holders can now propose and vote on key initiatives, helping ensure the network is resilient, fair, and community-driven. This governance model ushers in a new era where every participant, regardless of their $OORT balance, can contribute to the future and values of the OORT ecosystem.
Voting on the first proposal operates on a staking basis: simply stake your $OORT to participate within the designated period (e.g., 5 days). After the proposal ends, you can unstake and withdraw your tokens. Outcomes are based on the total $OORT staked, not the number of individual voters.
The governance platform offers flexibility, allowing voting rules to vary by proposal. Voters should review each proposal carefully to understand specific rules before voting.
Connect your wallet and ensure it contains the OORT token to enable voting. If you use MetaMask wallet, follow this step-by-step guide to add the OORT (native) token. Support for voting with OORT (BEP-20) will be added soon.
Beyond voting, OORT encourages the community to create and submit proposals, currently available to whitelist members only. Proposals can be created and submitted in the OORT Discord channel, and we will provide a tutorial once everything is set up.
We welcome proposals on topics like:
Get ready to make your voice heard! More proposals will soon be available for voting, so stay tuned for opportunities to help drive the future of decentralized AI with OORT.
